Well, got no comms at the moment so I thought of working on my pending pile of redraws/projects. I don't want to get back to the HQ!! Chibi project just yet, as that project has dragged on for long enough already and I need a break from it.
I have lots of drawings pending of my OC, Joo, in particular. It may seem that I have been neglecting my other OCs for her, but she's just the one that currently inspires me the most; I normally dedicate a fair amount of time to each OC, months and months before I move onto another.
I just rarely got some stuff done before this year, so while I'm so invested on Joo at the moment, it doesn't mean I won't go back to my other OCs eventually.
Fortunately, working on comms seems to have boosted my workflow so I'm working faster than ever, hopefully by the end of July I'll have at least 4 W.I.Ps out of my way, including this one.
So. The story behind this drawing is simple, which is basically how would Joo look like as a demon. Her blood inheritance gave her powers linked to the mind, she can move through the dreamscape as she sleeps and look into other people's dreams. Awake, she can mess with people's memory and perception of a certain event. These powers would naturally become the main traits of her identity as a demon, along with some basic shapeshifting.
There's a small twist I added, though: as she's compared to a different felines ALOT, I decided to add that she borrows feline traits and her appearence changes a bit according to that.
Her hair tips habe pretty much a cloud-like consistency, too. I thought it'd be a good detail, considering I based the design off a nebula :P
My experience with characters has been that they don’t care if you spend more time on other characters, they’re more concerned with being portrayed correctly 😆
Also why do you need to justify how long you work on individual characters anyway 🤣
