I'm not much of an artist. I took a couple of art classes back in my college days and mostly worked with pencil, and acrylics. Watercolors are a complete mystery to me.
I really like the way you described the process of this piece, including your "mistakes" and your thought process. Well written!
It seems that the mushroom glow did come out pretty well, I can see it.

    Watercolors are still a mystery to me in some regards too! A forever learning process! The glow was something I was really happy with on this. Just got that darned purple behind it. 😄
