Music is the shorthand of emotion.

- Leo Tolstoy -

It's been a little while since I've told you what's in my ears so I figured a little post to fill you in might be a good idea.

I know you don't really care, I mean we all have our own lives and what some guy from the other side of the world has in his ears probably rates quite low on your list of priorities, but that's not going to stop me telling you. So, if you want to know what's currently in my ears you can keep working through this post, click the links, and if you'd rather not then just click out of it now.

What...you thought I was going to say I had wax in my ears? Maybe you thought I'd say hair? Come on folks, I'm not a fucken Hobbit from Lord of the Rings. I'm talking about music in my ears, what I've been listening to lately.

Ok, so if you're still here feel free to comment about the music, somewhat of a country music theme I suppose, because that's pretty much what I listen to about seventy percent of the time. I know people tend not to like it, not people I generally hang around with, just other people. I'm not sure why it evokes such a negative emotion in some, it's just music, but I guess people just have their own likes and dislikes...sort of like I have, which is why I like country music.

Good morning Galen, of the selected music tracks I quite like the first one, the one by Warren Zeiders, and the last track is one I wouldn't look for to listen to.

Regards.

I'm glad you liked them; I think it's nice to learn about music that one may not usually come across. Sharing is caring right?

Undoubtedly, sharing is an act of generosity, and besides, in this case, I am fortunate that the cretin that lived inside me, abandoned me a few years ago. The cretin surely would not have listened to the selection.

Thank you for sharing.

It's good you got rid of that other you, that element of you that wasn't needed, and you've embraced a better version. Well done. ✅

I like the first two, I like the beat and their voice, it's my first time hearing their music so thanks for sharing what's on you ear, they all good music. I need to visit a site so I can freely download them and bow I also have them in my playlist. Listening to them while sitting and having a cup of black coffee with the background of nature would be amazing \(^o^)/

It's nice to learn about new music that we may not have heard before isn't it?

True \(^o^)/, I purposely browse YT just to find new song that is new to my ears ┏(^0^)┛

The songs seemed pretty good. My musical tastes are all over and depends on my mood. For country I prefer the older stuff, but can jam out to the younger folks too.

One must keep a connection to one's younger days...hopefully not through repeating mistakes from them though. 😊

No way, I can't take that kind of punishment anymore. Just the music and the memories.😀

Yeah me too man, me too.

Circles is a nice from Post Malone, a bit different from what he usually does.

I've been repeatedly listening to this one for quite a few days. It's one of my favorites. You'll like it, I bet.

Yeah, that's why I like it...a little different than what Post Malone would normally do. A good track. I know and like the one you linked as well, a worthy favourite.

7 Years Old will always be special because I can relate to a lot of the lyrics.

Those are some great tunes! I got to see Warren a couple of summers ago. He wasn't quite as popular as he is now, but he was still really good. He was the opening act for Zach Bryan, so he didn't get a very long set. Post Malone has a new country album out that dropped last Friday. You should check it out if you haven't yet. Lainey is good too. She has that kind of old school sound that is really refreshing in country music right now.

Good music huh? I can only agree and for the very same reasons you mention. I'll be checking out Post Malone's new album for sure, I'm sure it's good.

I have wax and hair in my ears.... but here is some of what I have discovered lately that I enjoyed:

Teddy Swims - Lose Control

Oliver Tree - One & Only

Good tunes...way better than wax! 😁

I'm so glad he "only" has a pair of headphones in his ears, and the music he listens to is amazing.

I like that kind of music because it gives me an energy that makes me fly, I usually play it while doing housework, walking, traveling, and it really requires me to change my attitude and displace negativity for a feeling closer to happiness.

And grateful that this musical genre still exists.

I've got a brain in there too, between my ears, but it's not very big. 😬

Music is a great way to effect one's mood isn't it? I have something playing most of the time, especially when I'm doing chores and housework or DIY.

Sometimes I don't know if I said something improper or not, anyway the "just" meant that there was nothing wrong with his ears.
The lucky thing is that you have a fine sense of humor and relieve me of my sense of guilt.

Your brain is also appropriate and well used, no matter what size s.😌

The weekend is coming up, we'll see what it brings.
Excellent day @galenkp

You didn't say anything wrong (improper).

Yeah, the weekend. It's Friday morning here, time to start my day, my work day, and then the weekend will arrive which I'm looking forward to. Have a good end of the week.

I don't know if it's just a theory or proven fact, but apparently people's heartbeats sync up to the music that they're listening to. I'm not well versed in country music, but I think generally the beats are slower in country music... so maybe you like it because you're a chill dude and you feel better if your heart is beating slower?

Oh the 3 you listed, the Post Malone one was definitely more my style and I'd say its tempo is a bit faster than the first 2. I'm more into Kaiser Chiefs (for example) who have no chill.

I've heard that too, a reason one should listen to calming music at bedtime.

As for county music, I guess I just like the stories they attach to it and feel it has more heart than a lot of the other stuff. Just a personal opinion though.

I listen to all sorts of music, not chill stuff included, and really enjoy having a broad musical interest. Learning to play the piano from a young age and parents that encouraged me to explore the world around me and everything it contains has helped me discover music I may not otherwise have found.

I was actually going to make that point too... the stories and feelings attached to music can be a big driver - so much of my musical tastes center around what was happening in my life around the time a particular song or style I was listening to. Music (and smells) can bring on such strong memories and feelings, it's pretty amazing the way the human mind works.

Indeed, that's one of the most amazing and enjoyable things about music. I know my life would be somewhat less than it is without music in it.

Just like we all know our lives would be somewhat less than they are without galenkp in it.

I've heard all three songs you listed above. The type of song that is good to accompany us when driving to a far away place. Regardless of the lyrics or MV. In my country, there are many legendary musicians with country music genres that are very popular with the public until now. I think country music is easier to enter the heart.

I agree with you, I think country music has more heart and that's one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. I like a lot of other music too though, there's so much to like.

To be honest, I think it's a generational thing as well—the older generation tends to like country music a little more. Either way, I don't mind country music, as long as it hasn't been played 4 million times on the radio before.

I'm a lad from a small county town so tend to lean that way with most things and and country music fits also, as you say, I don't value much of the music that's produced...possibly an age thing.

Do people have negative emotions about country music?
I don't listen to much of this kind of music, but it has a good vibe!!!
I like this band a lot!

And of the three the second one I like both the music and the video, I want to be that girl, horses all over the place!😃

Credence? That's old-school. I'm not so much into the older stuff, there's a few tracks I like but none of the older artists I could say I completely enjoy.

A cowboy (or girl) must have a horse...and in lieu of a horse they must have a truck.

A truck is too big for me hahaha better a horse.... a Friesian!

Have you seen the new two legged model? I reckon this is the one for you.

How bad!!! Very bad!🤣

Saves money, only two horse shoes are required.

But I want a 4-legged one! hahahaha an original one! That two-legged one looks like it was made by an AI hahaha I don't want that one!

Being a country girl myself, the first one is more like my stuff, the second one is okay too.

Just ok? Well, ok then.
