Yeah, it's quite graphic for sure, but I think life was cheaper back then and they work towards demonstrating that and how brutal humans can be towards each other. I think the director does a good job of showing that.
It'll be interesting to see what the world is like in 100 years from now, I'll not be around and neither will you, but that's probably a good thing as I don't think the world will be very nice.

Yep, no reason to screw up the planet, but so many do...while countries and governments and corporations...and every day people as well.
