Square peg in a round hole? Much like how Authoritarians call themselves liberal? Regressives call themselves Progressive? Racists call themselves Anti-Racists?

Words have meaning. As I've said before if we go along with someone redefining a word blindly then we cede mental territory. We think in words.

I refuse to acknowledge the redefinition of words.

Most of the people you bash and call Liberals are not liberal.

Most of the people you bash and call Progressive are doing nothing progressive.

Most of the people calling themselves Anti-Racist are some of the most racist people on the planet at the moment.

Words matter.

It is only a problem if you let them hijack these labels.

It is much like someone handing you poison and telling you "Don't worry this is called 'Good Food'".

Allowing them to hijack the meaning of the words is poison for your mind.

Fight back.

"You are not a liberal!"

"What do you mean by anti-racist? You are the racist."

"You are not progressive. You are trying to resurrect old failed ideas. That's called regressive."

"You are not conservative. Look at how rapidly you are throwing us further into debt and expanding government power..."

"No I am not racist. I just challenge stupid ideas without caring a bit about what color you are or are not."

"Fascist... nope, I don't support corporate marriage to the government."

Oh now are you going to hold up some website claiming to be a dictionary or an establish dictionary that has suddenly started changing definitions? Didn't you just try to call me a fascist? Do you understand the irony? Do you see the hypocrisy?

"If you are so woke then why do your thoughts seem like a nightmare from the past?"

Are you starting a movement? If so come up with your own word for it. Don't try to steal the fame and meaning of existing of words and repurpose it...

Yes, I know you like to redefine words, and you like to rewrite history, and you like to censor anyone that gets in the way of that. Too bad.

I think you are a fool and I will not comply.

If you can use your own words without having to redefine history, and existing words. I'll listen. Convince me with those and we'll talk.

I won't give in to your idea because you try to redefine the foundations of thought out of existence.

Redefining symbols worked so well, it was really only a matter of time before the words followed suit.

Yes indeed. The Swastika is a good example.

Yes one of the most ancient and wold wide symbols in so many diverse cultures.

I like tge topic and your energy! A couple of things came to my mind when reading this. First, words are words, we assigned meaning to them once, why not again. Take the word gay, for example; it's changed meaning at least twice - first it meant happy, then gay and now people are also using it to mean kind of lame. That said, should there be a line? Like at making the words have the opposite meaning? Maybe going forward we could distinguish between them by saying "the regressive progressive" or "the racist anti-racist"... 😄 Secondly, we have a saying where I come from and it translates something like "all new is the well forgotten old". You see it in music all the time and in fashion. Why not politics? Why shouldn't we reinvent the wheel again tome after time?

There is a difference be reinvention and hijacking to control something. That is what they are doing and been doing for awhile. When I say "They" unless specified I am referring to the collective unknown "bad guys" which at this point is not one simple to identify group. It is more an organic almost living pseudo-living thing at this point. "The Blob"

What was the meaning of "happy", when "gay" meant "happy"?

I'm pretty sure happy meant happy; gay was just another word for it.

Preach it!
...it's good to have you back!

Thought-provoking. They want to change the narrative and confuse so they can accuse. I'm not into the wordplay they are trying now. I also think they are fools and I will not give into the madness.
