Hey, I don't think what your saying is true, Nobody denies the police brutality in HK, but HK rioters are the most extremeist in the world, They beat people on streets who speak mandarins, derail running train and set it on fire, pour gasoline on other people and burn them to death. beat people to coma who trying to remove the blockage they put on streets. At least in your country, people on both side are condemning violence, But here in HK, "pro-democracy" rioters are willing to burn the city to ash as long as their demands are not satisfied, they speak this loudly and clearly on TV (watch this full interview by yourself:
). Do not forget, even at life-threatening by "pro-democracy" rioters, still 2.9 million people in HK signed their petition to support new security law, and plea the Government to restore law and order, some of them know as long as they speak out to support Government, their shop will get smashed, their kid will get beaten, you have no idea what's going on here.- 黄翔

Lol @ that 2.9 million people signed their petition. That petition is just like any online petition that you can keep signing over and over without identity verification. If the government has any guts, they can hold a referendum and see if the majority of the people agree to that security law. If as you said 2.9 million people support the security law, the pro-democracy camp won't be achieved its biggest landslide victory in the history of Hong Kong in 2019 Local Council election. The vote speaks for themselves.

and you think the shops didn't get smashed once they speak out for the democracy camp? They either get smashed occasionally by the pro-government camp and also getting reported to police saying they violated the "gathering rules" so their business are heavily affected. What you said applies to the pro-democracy camp as well. They are getting suppressed, arrested, threatened by the pro-government camp and guess what? The police won't do anything because they are pro-democracy.
