Duke is a born footballer. Whenever he plays football with his peers people always enjoy his football antics and the way he scores goals. In one of the occasions he was fortunate to have local scouts around who plucked him and introduced him to one of the local football clubs around.
In his first season, Duke was able to impress and score over ten goals. His profile among other players rose markedly. He was destined for greatness. For the first time a formal contract was drafted and presented to his signature and approval. Duke had no person to interpret the numerous clauses inserted into the contract, some were even written in very small characters and illegible font. Duke, a naive young footballer simply signed and returned the contract papers to his manager.
His club went for an international competition with other clubs. All eyes were on Duke as that is a sure way to land better deals. As expected Duke shorn like a star and propelled his team to the finals of the competition. Unfortunately, they lost and came back with bronze. However, Duke became the MVP of the tournament and foreign scouts were circling around him for his signature.
A deal was struck with one of the best teams in the globe and Duke was placed on a sumptuous weekly wages. His life changed immediately. It was then that his manager pulled out the contract he had earlier signed with them which contains a strange commission to be paid to his parent club.
That clause almost wrecked the whole deal for Duke. It meant that Duke had to cut down his wages to pay for this strange commission. That way the deal went through instead of falling apart.
After that deal was sealed Duke had to retain a personal agent who was tasked with the drafting and approval matters like that for him.
