If forced to write a certain amount of words poetry, short stories make no chance plus it kills creativity.
I agree,there's a difference between meeting a word count and crafting something meaningful.Word count targets can be helpful for deadlines,but the focus should always be on quality and letting the creativity flow organically.Sometimes,less is more.
