You nail it - the lack of love, lack of values and respect in the family, those men who mistreat, statistically, were also mistreated, or grew up seeing mistreatment between father and mother can explain some of it, but we must never accept being battered, abused, and beaten by those who are in need of mental healing. Because No kind of abuse can be justified, even if the origin has an explanation, the truth is that women and any human being deserve to be treated without violence. Battered men do exist, but they seem less likely to report being abused (especially by a woman against a man). And children, male or female - oh the heartbreak!
