As I Was Walking, A Bird Fell From The Sky 2.16.2024

Yes, I was walking and I noticed something fall down. It was this bird. It did not fall from a tree as there were no trees in the area. I looked up and I seen the power lines. That must have been it.

What if the bird was standing on a power line and all of a sudden a surge of energy went through the lines, I mean more than normal? That might have caused the bird to get shocked a little enough for it to fall off the line.

As I looked at the bird it seemed to have its eyes opened, So I thought maybe the bird is ok, for the time being.

I mean there are cats in the area and if the cat has a chance it could eat that bird while it is recovering from a probable electrical shock.

I didn't want to take the bird with me as my dad did decades ago and raise a couple of blue jays that fell from a tree. I didn't feel like putting that much energy into it. Plus after time maybe the bird can gain its footing and actually fly away.

On my normal walk, I came past that area again where I was checking out the bird that fell from the sky and I did not see it. I also checked for a bunch of feathers that might show up if a cat did eat that bird, and I seen no feathers at all.

So I would assume that the bird did gain its footing and eventually flew away.

So let's say, this bird was fortunate.

I remember the power company asked my dad if they can check out his backyard. They checked it out, but were confused and asked where there any dead birds? My dad did say, Oh yes, there were dead birds, and when I found them, I buried them. I can't remember if my dad had to dig them back up and show the power company the dead birds or not.

I think it was a great surge in the line, that killed those birds. Of course I don't know for sure, but the power company did want to know if there were any dead birds.

My late dad was like that, if he seen an animal or a bird, dead in his backyard, he would bury it.

When my mom would feed feral cats, some would die in the yard, maybe being sick or maybe just being old. Well, anyway I would just go and bury it for my mom. My mom passed away in July of 2023.

My favorite place to bury a cat is around my mom's mandarin tree.

Many years ago I buried two of my cats that passed away in 2008 at different months under my orange tree.

So the bird seems to have recovered and flew away.

Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Matthew 10:29.

Sorry to hear about your parents :( They sound like wonderful people.

Would you have taken the bird if he really couldn't get better by himself? I hope you will tell the power company about this.

Thank you @wrestlingdesires! Yes, I might have taken the bird, but it seemed conscious, and its body didn't look mangled. Thanks again.

I'm glad everything worked out for the best :)
