Yes, I went to my favorite gas station, Safeway Gas and I gave them $32 for gas and I walked back to my 1994 Mazda B3000 and I tried to get the locking gas cap off with my key, but it wouldn't come off.
I tried over and over again, but the same thing, I couldn't get the locking gas cap off, as it seemed to just stay in the locked position and the key won't seem the make a difference.
So what do I do? Just drive away? No, I'm going to get my money back. I told the guy, I couldn't get any gas cause I could not get my locking gas cap off. So he gave me back my $32 and I drove the truck home.
Then I went to my computer. I still like using my PC tower with a full keyboard, well anyway, I looked up Youtube and looked up locking gas cap won't come out.
I seen a lot of videos and the ones that impressed me, were the ones that mentioned drilling a small hole in the cap near the keyhole and taking a long screw and screw in the screw like you see in the picture.
It didn't work exactly as I seen in the videos, but it came close. I did have to put in the key and turn it a certain way and then I can feel the cap release and I took out the lock gas cap.
Before I even did the screw technique I ordered a compatible locking gas cap for a 1994 Mazda B3000 truck. The new gas cap comes with 2 keys. Great with I get it, I'll get another copy of that key to put away somewhere else.
You see I like to have two sets of identical keys, one in my right hand jean front pocket and another set that I put in a canvas pouch in my left hand jean front pocket. And I also have another set of keys that I put away somewhere outside my body.
This way I can't lock myself out. House, cars, truck or what have you.
So I got the defective gas cap off, but what to replace it with in the mean time, before I get the brand new locking gas cap.
Well, I just so happened to have a non-locking gas cap that came from my 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS. You see the check engine light came on and the code told me it could be the gas cap. So I bought a brand new gas cap, but save the old one. The old one looked fine to me, but the computer says it is not good.
So now I use the old gas cap from my 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS on my 1994 Mazda B3000 and it works just fine, and no check engine light came on. So I will use that cap until the brand new locking gas cap comes. I ordered it from Amazon.
I should get the new gas cap in a few more days.
Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29.
