What I see: A man carrying a Christmas tree down the sidewalk in a light snow.

What I feel: it is December 30, and those already down with the holiday spirit are putting their trees out on the curb ... I wonder ... maybe there is more to this story that someone skilled in horticulture can see beside making mulch ...

They thought he was crazy, and he was.
He had to be to see the value of these trees on December 30, still somewhat alive.
Water to revive, a careful splitting, the right growth hormone, a plot of land:
His children's future Christmas tree farm grew from these curbside rescues!

I wonder why everyone sees a person carrying a ‘Christmas tree’ instead of a man carrying a ‘fir, white pine, Viking pine, spruce, balsam fir, balsam fir, …’. Maybe if it were in another era they would call it by its name, heh, heh, heh, heh.

Dear friend @deeanndmathewa, may you have a wonderful year 2025 full of health and abundance.

And also to you!

Now that I think about it ... I did note that it is a smaller one of the conifers ... white pine is likely because it is a lighter green!

Thank you and HAPPY NEW YEAR -- may all good that we wait upon find us in 2025!

Why would they think he's crazy. I think he's preparing for his Christmas fantasies. It's short and interesting with deep suspense

On December 30, people are putting out their Christmas trees to be mulched here ... to them, those trees are no longer worth anything ... but you see what he sees...

Indeed once Christmas is over many throw the once wanted tree outside and it's good to hear you used that fact to write this this story. I am super happy this tree has a second life.

In Dutch we sing: Oh pine tree, oh pine tree (the translation of the German: Oh Tannenbaum, oh, Tannenbaum) but most of us have a spruce tree instead. The white version is way more expensive.

I get so annoyed with everyone throwing their trees into the street that I thought that at least in fiction, I would come up with a better solution!
