What are your plans for marriage?

I was asked recently by a concerned relative, Aunty Funmi.

Often times while growing up, my siblings and I had pegged Aunty Funmi to a nosy being, the kind we call busy body in this part of the world. We felt she'd always find a way to poke nose uninvited into conversations that didn't concern her or pry into our private lives. I think every family is gifted with representatives of this sort every now and then.

Well now that we're all grown and wiser, we've come to the understanding that she really cared about our well being. No matter how irritating we might feel at the time, we took solace knowing that everything she did, she did out of love. As is the case of the conversation at hand now.

Aunty mi, I'll get married.
As soon as I find a woman.

Aunty, shey (do) you want me to bring those Instagram slay Queens to you abi?

Ma...

Are you trying to tell me that in all 7.5 Billion humans on earth, you're yet to find a wife?

That would be correct ma'am.
Marriage remains the only institution you are given a certificate before entering.
There is no room for graduation.
A Union that is forever cemented with your vows. I'm not sure such an institution allow rushing in.

Feedback from the last Hive Power Up Day

I have known aunts like that.

Oh I have them a lot in my family always quick to remind me that time is fleeting and so is youth.

If refusing to be pressured into companionship I'd termed defiance, well so be it. I just started enjoying bachelorhood and I must live every but of it to the fullest.
