In a time long past, a peaceful city snuggled in a lush valley was vulnerable by a ruthless warlord, who demanded tribute or promised destruction. The city’s leadership were in despair, unsure of how to save their people.
Among them was Alara, a beautiful and Wise young woman, known not just for her appearance but for her courage and intelligence. As the city council debated surrender, Alara stepped forward with a dare plan. She proposed to journey unaccompanied to the warlord’s camp, armed only with her wit.
When she reached the warlord, Alara spoke eloquently, not pleading for mercy, but thought-provoking him to a game of strategy, informed of his pride in such matters. Intrigued by her boldness, the warlord agreed. If she won, the city would be spared; if she lost, she would turn his prisoner.
