Hello #Hive Lovers...Blessing for all of us.
I realized that my writing ability in the last two years has decreased drastically. This is not about agraphia that appears due to damage to my brain, and this is not a disease. However, this is very detrimental to me. If in the past I was able to string together words and sentences up to more than 700 words, but now I have difficulty reaching 500 words. Look at my last two posts, or before that, I even took a break. Even though I am very aware that one of the communication skills that is no less important is writing.
Honestly, I have the ability speak, especially if the material is about legal material. In the past, my ability to speak was equal to my writing ability. But now my ability to write and parse words and sentences has become. There used to be a wise man's saying that I admired. If you are not a king's son, then write. I realize this saying is very profound. Because for rich people and people who have positions, the legacy they leave behind will be tied to what they have at that time. While I am nobody, so the easiest way is to leave a legacy with my own writing.
My limitations in accessing information and learning autodidactically and being weak in mastering scientific writing methods do not support my ability. My environment also does not encourage me to write. The vibe of people around me assumes that currently, it is enough to look for writing and process existing writing; writing is considered a waste of time and not materially beneficial. According to them, rather than using time to write, what is good for them at this time is maintaining health by doing activities outside and pursuing material gain by doing business.
If you are currently experiencing a situation like mine, my advice is not to stay in that situation. It is not good for your brain and your motor skills. Go quickly and find new inspiration in writing because, as far as I know, the characteristics of a writer are someone who cannot stay still and has the spirit to continue working. The motivation that I convey is actually also for myself. Who else can be the greatest motivator in this world other than ourselves?
Therefore, the first thing is to find inspiration in writing, and it is true that getting inspiration is not only from reading; watching movies is also possible, as chatting freely with other people while enjoying coffee, or you want to explore beautiful places around you. Please do it, and do what you are interested in, and of course, it must be pleasing to the heart. This way, the inspiration will come out well. Even if you are tired later, do not hesitate to take a break and rest because tiredness will make your writing soul depressed. Rest and pause will not be in vain, because later your body and mind will be in a calm situation, and after that, you will be ready with the energy that will make your writing soul faster.
The second thing is that you must have a realistic target. Don't write everything at the same time; do it one by one so that it will reduce the pressure if, in the end, it is not realized. Therefore, you must adjust between targets, abilities, and needs. Something you want to write in one week, you must be able to complete, and what you write is certainly a need that you set as a priority to write.
Finally, join fellow writers, or you can meet people close to you and mingle with a community that you believe can grow your writing motivation. During this time when you have been on a hiatus from writing, maybe you miss the atmosphere with them, or maybe they really miss your writing. The question that you usually encounter later is, It's been a long time since you wrote; where have you been? This question will be a trigger in communicating, and it is a good motivation to start playing your fingers on the keyboard to write again.
