This is a short story about how parents should train their kids. It highlights the importance of creating memorable experiences and meaningful interactions in their well-being. Instead of keeping children in a repetitive routine at home for 365 days, introducing them to new experiences can make them more versatile. Sit back and enjoy this story as we explore some valuable parenting insights.
What Do You See?
I see two young brothers sitting back-to-back, holding a teddy bear. They love this lifeless object so much because it is the highest form of fun they have encountered; it adds to their fun at home. They are just hungry for affection from other kids.
What Do You Feel?
I feel they admire the teddy bear, but they crave more fun beyond just playing with it. In this post, I will include some psychological insights into making kids happy because, naturally, kids love fun.
A Short Story: Amin and Dabby
Amin and Dabby were two young brothers who spent most of their time at home alone. Their parents did not have a nanny to care for them, and their daily routine was always the same, i.e school to church to home, and back to school again.
According to child psychology, kids learn fast from their environment, if its a boring one, they are prone to the risk od developing anxiety over matters such as anger. and this affects their growth. It is important to introduce them to their peers, especially cousins, nephews, and loved ones who live far away or close by. This exposure helps them build better experiences beyond the familiar environment they are used to.
Unfortunately, Amin and Dabby had no such interactions. Over time, they started developing resentment towards each other because they were tired of always being together. Their parents, thinking they were fulfilling their responsibilities, did not realize what was happening.
One day, a heated argument broke out between the brothers over who should own the bigger teddy bear. The younger brother insisted the teddy belonged to both of them, while the older brother claimed that, as the eldest, he deserved the bigger teddy.
Unable to settle the argument, they decided to call their parents. Their parents, realizing the tension, advised them to stop arguing and take the right teddy bear without any conflict.
Personal Lessons Learned
One key lesson from this story is that kids learn fast from their environment, and this greatly influences their growth. A perfect way to train them is by introducing them to their peers, especially family members who live close or far away. This helps them build better experiences and memories.
When children spend time together, they engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and have fun. This reduces unnecessary frustration that comes from seeing the same faces repeatedly. Providing them with opportunities to interact with others helps them grow emotionally and socially.

Now, let's imagine for a moment that instead of the kids being bored, they are there for punishment or worse, isolated while waiting for their parents to pay the reward. It would be a turnaround in history. Surprisingly, none of the entries took this path, heh, heh, heh.
