The computer he bought had a sticker on it that read "Equipped for the future!" The salesman assured him that it would be compatible with "whatever comes next". It wasn't cheap but Max never bought the cheapest thing anyway (buy cheap you buy twice, his mother used to say). When he got home he unpacked the computer from it's box. The most difficult part of setting the thing up was getting the packing out of the box. There were no instructions visible so Max just plugged the computer in, put the kettle on, brewed a cup of tea and then returned to the computer and pressed the ON button. Nothing happened for a moment so Max pressed the button again, then again, and again. There came a strange whooshing sound and the room began to twist and turn. Max fell into the chair in front of the computer, his head dizzy and his stomach churning. The computer "tinged" and the screen said: "Welcome to the FUTURE!".
