What a burden it is for a mother to have a son like Prince Awful. It's unclear to me why she hides in the mirror. Did she pass away or hide inside? It's an intriguing part of the story.
Now I wonder if Mom can act by using the mirror or if it's just a mirror to the world of the (still) living.
Will Alphonse act after all those years? /
In a way, this scary story reminds me of the time we are living in. Nevertheless, I rather live back then and hide in the woods or cross borders by hiking or magic.
A more than enjoyable read, you captured my attention from the first letter till the last.
Blessings to you

A burden for any mother with children who refuse to listen to good advice @wakeupkitty. This is a universal and timeless concern I believe. She hides in the mirror, watching and giving instructions to the sorceress who speaks with her son. She instructed the sorceress to give her son a weapon for protection. Since he doesn't want to listen to his mother, maybe the witch can help warn him. The sorceress may have been in her life when she was alive. Perhaps the Mirror of Secrets belongs to her when she was Queen.
In any event, she is now deceased as seen in my words below:
I'm like you. I prefer to live in a more peaceful time in my childhood when life was simpler and the world moving at a slower pace. No road rage and major disasters daily or weekly.
Thanks so much for your visit and lovely compliment. I appreciate you engaging with my story. Only a few more chapters to go now I hope you stay with me until the end. Some surprising developments.
I can be late but I stay with you. Your story is the best way to relax after a hard day of work and the stress I dealt with in the past weeks.
Once the last episode ends I will start at part 1 and read each one of them smuggled in my bathrobe hopefully on the couch my son will save for. 😁
Thanks for writing this great story.
P.s. I don't know what I would do but I am not sure if I wanted an awful son to protect himself. He's too dangerous.
The queen could show up again or?
Mothers will be mothers until the end always holding out hope. Anything is possible in fiction, right?
Thanks so much for your feedback. I have thoroughly enjoyed it for my story. It gives me something to think about for the next chapters 🤓
Take care.
