Blindfolds| POETRY

Warning : if you wear any of this blindfold, you're a cadaver waiting for its grave to be dug. please, seek help.

fear gnaws your self-esteem
till nothing is left.
a boy is set on a track.
the track seems long
as though it's a citadel
touching God's armpit.
he fears he would pocket losses
while others pocket medals
so he runs back home
borrowing a cheetah's limbs;
the cheetah's legs he should
use on his track—say
fear exhausts your strength
courage rewards. fear exhausts.

anger wears your body
and it becomes autocratic
you don't own your body any more
so you follow his orders like a dummy.
a man stabbed his wife in a brouhaha
till breath is declared a failure.
the man was hemophobic
before the violence.

depression like fear
gnaws your self-esteem
it makes you think
the world is against you alone
actually, the world is against everybody.
you won't see wonder in the tiny
miracle ribboned on your chest.
