SOME PHASES ARE NOT NEW/PICTURE PROMPT CHALLENGE

in Freewriters5 months ago (edited)

The things that are happening today are not new, they've all had phases of prior seasons and eternal phases of coming ones. This sounds beautiful until, you realize that not all these phases happen the same way; sometimes they come with joy, other times with slight bitterness and other times, with deep agony. But they all stand the test of time, this is a proven cycle of life.

At some point, we are little humans excited about the chance to try out new things, first-time shavings, first time with new hairstyles. We have our older loved ones around, in most cases, to witness our innocent joy. A little more than a few years down the line, positions have been switched, and we're standing there, right next to the one who was once our guardian, watching them go through a process we once went through as children.

But this time around, it's different. There's no bubbling sounds or exciting looks, just vague, tired and exhausted. Like us, they used to be excited about such little things until it changed from necessary experiments to heartbreaking experiences.

"Maybe you'll grow older before you catch the disease and lose your hair too."

They say with coarse voices.

But we, most times, just look away.

Perhaps, because we're unable to come to terms with the pain. Perhaps, because we try to live in self deceit, or because we would prefer to live with a greater hope.

Everything comes in phases, but some phases are more beautiful than others.
