The roof has come undone
Our sons have done it
Our flags are flying high
The nation's stands, united
In one voice, they cry out, rejoicing
Well done Super Eagles.

The eagles triumph in the night skies.
Tonight, they've come out to hunt.
I hear the ukuleles.
The ground tremble
before a million feet,
jubilating and celebrating
the spoils brought home by
our eagles.

Here's a divided nation,
united by sportsmanship,
by shared expectations,
by a round thing,
carved from a pig's hides.

Tonight,
there's
no Yorubas
no Igbos
No Hausas
No Ishekiris
No "other tribes",
No, just one voice,
And one people.
One Nigeria.

Tonight,
The Yorubas didn't play alone
The Igbos didn't play alone
The Hausas didn't plays alone
The Ishekiris didn't play alone
Other tribes didn't play alone
Nigeria did!!

And she won...
I wish we would remain this united,
then we can win in everything.
