A frenemy indeed Part 1

I was once in a tight spot caused by someone I thought was my friend.
I trusted her because we were of the same age gap and we vibe so well. We were practically inseparable and I shared literally everything with her. She did same with me until the day I knew I had a sharp knife thrusted at my back by her hands.
Actually, the signs were there but I wasn't so attentive. I was just giving and giving.
I was giving my trust, love, joy and respect to a green snake.

If not for God, I wouldn't have known that this person in question was always envious of me.
I ask myself everyday how she was always able to keep a pretentious face all through 5 years of friendship.
Can anyone even stay that long keeping grudges, envying and hating someone with so much ease?
Wasn't it ever painful for her in her chest?
Didn't she even for once feel like unburdening it cause of how heavy it is?

The day I got to realize I was the most hated person on the list of the girl I call my best friend was when I caught her ripping off every petal on the bouquet an admirer delivered to my house.
When the parcel arrived, she was in my house. We were watching a movie together.
After the "wows" and "I'm happy for you", I got a call from my friend who owns a provision shop down the street to come get a certain brand of cereal I asked for.
I barely stepped out for 2 minutes before I remembered I didn't put on some lip gloss, cause I mean a girl can't be caught 'unfresh' at any time.
So I went back in and what I saw and heard sent shivers down my spine...
