Life is a mirror.
I grew up watching my dad read books and updating his book shelf continuously till date.
That trait got imprinted on me too and I can tell you for a fact that I would choose to read a book than watch a movie if I had a free day.
The things you do are mostly imprinted on your offsprings and generation entirely.
It doesn't happen all the time and to everyone, but we can all agree that it happens most of the time, right?
The habits you keep today are what your kids are going to see and copy whether good or bad.
So, eventually you have a mirror with you at home that's not bought with money.
I don't know if I've explained this point enough though.
