RE: The burden of guilt

in Freewriters10 months ago

Hello @loveth97. Wow, what a heart-wrenching tale of rush to judgment and eventual forgiveness. This story is all too real life as parents brought up in the old ways have set plans for their children. When those plans are not fulfilled according to the parents' direction, rash decisions are made. Children leave home; the home is broken; guilt and sadness ensues. I had a feeling that the wife's calmness knew their daughter was safe and had made it through the difficulty. She knew that his redemption would come one day.

You know, sometimes one person's bad actions is an opportunity for another to receive a blessing. Take the woman who took Eve in, nurtured, and kept her safe her until she gave birth. That woman was a blessing to the entire family, and Thomas should seek her out and thank her if possible.

I can understand Eve wanting to prove to her parents, especially her father, that her one mistake wouldn't define her entire life. She did that. The fact that she reached out to her mother and eased her worry was a sign that Eve had matured. Her willingness to forgive her father was a sign of that maturity.

What an awesome story you weaved @loveth97 full of family drama and resolution that hopefully will take place in the near future. Nicely done.

Take care and have a good rest of your week.
