Greetings Readers
I hope that the week has been good to you! Kay is still being her nasty little self but I am enjoying her as a character very much! I hope you all enjoy her too! Here is the next update!
Saita once more took after the Fell Dragon. The two of them were nearly back at the room where they had started when Jethron came out of the room. He noted Kay and quickly backed up against the wall, trying to avoid her.
Kay grinned before extending one energy claw from her index finger. She came to stand as close as possible to the Dekai to make him uncomfortable. She then placed the point of the claw under his jaw.
“Come on Kay, that isn’t necessary.” Begged Saita.
Kay ignored her and looked deep into the Dekai’s eyes.
“Trust me, making more of us isn’t worth it. Leave this timeline alone. It is the only one without my taint. Let Saita be the last like me.”
Jethron nodded his head hurriedly.
“I’m serious.” Whispered Kay. “The only reason this timeline was spared was because there was no Fledgling and no Champion. If that were to change, there is no way to know if my past self would come back here. Time’s funny like that, you know.”
“I will destroy the records myself.” He whispered.
“Best you do.” Said the Dragon as she pushed past him into the room.
“I’m so sorry.” Said Saita as she followed.
Not watching where she was going, she bumped into Kay, who was fixing Shareik with a dirty look. She then turned to Saita and said, “Your biggest mistake, was trusting this one.”
“He kinda just showed up in my life.” Said Saita, defending herself for no reason.
“Are you sure about that?” sneered Kay as she sat down as far away from the Heavenly. “So, when can I expect to be locked up in that one’s head again?”
Shareik looked from the queen and then back to Kay before lowering his gaze.
“This is permanent.”
“Excuse me, I don’t think I heard you from all the way over there.” Growled the Fell Dragon.
“You have a body like the one you came from. You are identical except for a few differences. Trying to bring the two of you together now would possibly cause one of you to cease existing.”
“I know you want to erase your mistake Shareik, but I never thought you’d stoop this low.”
Shareik remained quiet before continuing, “You have an opportunity to live in separate forms but the bond that keeps you together will always be there. If she dies, you die. If you die, your consciousness may return to her or may be lost. I’m sorry, this wasn’t what I wanted to do.”
“Son of a bitch.”
“I have explained your predicament to Shareik, and he thinks he may be able to help you.” Said Queen Kay, trying to stop any argument from happening.
“The Queen told me of how I blocked your ability to travel timelines. I think I can undo that.”
“I had no such ability. As you know I steal life force and use it as I need it.”
“I was talking to your counterpart.” Shareik looked at Saita.
“Even if you return that ability to me, I don’t know how to use it.” Said Saita.
“Not really important.” Muttered Kay under her breath.
Shareik got to his feet, “Let me return the ability to you at the very least.”
As he moved past Kay, she growled at him, but he showed no fear. He stood before Saita, gathering all the details he needed. This was his opportunity to get what he needed without accidentally stumbling upon her and her companion again. He lay his fingers on her head and closed his eyes. He would take what he needed and then unlock the ability. She needed it for some reason, and if she had a mission in mind, he could avoid her.
Kay watched this for a while with a grimace before feeling a tap on her shoulder. She looked up into an older version of her face. Once with no scars and two eyes.
“Let’s see to your hand and get you a proper meal and clothes.”
Kay shrugged. There was no reason not to accept. She had learned early on never to look a gift horse in the mouth. She got to her feet, giving Shareik a side-eye.
“Don’t trust him.” She said softly.
Queen Kay nodded her head and led the way from the room. After leading the Fell Dragon off for a few minutes, the queen finally asked, “What did you mean when you said Saita learning to time travel wasn’t important?”
“Red-Eye has joined us. He has a knack for sniffing me out. I just have to allow myself to be known.”
“And you didn’t think to say something before the Heavenly started?”
“Why prevent Saita from regaining what was taken from her? Anyway, if we’re ever separated, she could travel as needed.”
“You are planning on disappearing?”
Kay thought about this for a few minutes and shrugged, “Not yet. I made a promise I intend to keep. Once that is kept, I will think further about my choices.”
“A promise to who?”
“Her husband.”
In the next episode, we'll learn more about Kay and Bolx's relationship.
