Do you know that one thing in your life, which is not benefiting you financially, which you can actually earn much more money if you do something instead of. But it gives you those fulfilling moments of meaning which you wouldn't want to trade with the most expensive things...
Well, that one thing is Teaching English for me...
Ever since I came back to Iran from the Philippines, English and teaching it, have been a source of an inner joy for me.
There's something about teaching that I think only teachers have a grasp over. No matter how low the earnings are, a teacher always itches to teach. the feeling after a good session of class is something close to a potent drug. And I think that's what I'm addicted to, and I have no plans of getting rid of this high.
The selfish part aside, thankfully I've been able to inspire many kids and adults to learn English not just for the sake of getting a diploma, but really learning it for the skill and being able to really express themselves in the dimension of English language. When they see a person, who actually did it, and is being able to communicate fully, something in them can start saying that ''if he did it, so can I''.
You see, there is a difference to seeing something in TV that actually seeing something in real. Much gratefully, many of these kids saw that in me. I'm not bragging at all here, I'm just stating what's actually happening. When they see me talk, they sort of get pressured to talk well as well. After trying a bit, they really can see that a progress can happen around their education. And this can be a great start.
Samples of work, specially when they are in reach and in front of you, can have a huge amount of effect on the way you standardize things. You basically want more form yourself because you have a high bar set to reach.
Truly humbled, I'm very much happy to be that person for them to be inspired from. And this actually is the reason for me keeping on teaching English. An obligation of presence I call it. For them to see what's possible.
At the same time, they make me grow. My English education hasn't ended, and in fact, it never does. Each session that I go to, has something for me to learn too. When teaching, I learn a lot actually. My skills in fact, have improved drastically ever since I started teaching the language.
I don't think I'd ever stop doing this. English is going to be around till the last of my days...
Thank you for reading this. ✌️🙂
Peace!🖤
How do you ended up teaching English in the Philippine? I may or may not read this story yet. Also, learning is continuous and you also improve as you teach it to others. I also use that techniques whenever I am trying to learn and improve.
Well actually, I went to Philippines to study Dentistry. For some reason I wasn't able to finish the Dent school and I decided to go back to Iran. Here, my English skills really helped me. So I started teaching English here in my city. :)
English language is one of the widely spoken language in the world. We easily interact freely with each other with it.
