On a windy day where "Amihan" is the talk of the town, I found myself waking up at 2 AM. I couldn't process what was happening in my mind at that time, but I was definitely feeling the cold.
So, I wore my jacket and put on some music while my body was put into a sleepy state and my mind wandered in the blank space. However, I suddenly felt chills on my skin. There was something blowing on my body. A strong one.
I opened my eyes and found myself in the middle of a mass, sitting beside a big electric fan with my friend. My eyes wandered, my heart kept racing, and my breathing was heavy.
How did I end up here?
Then, I suddenly remembered that I was no longer living under the same roof as my parents. I have the freedom to go anywhere, but I can't make my feet move. So, I end up in the church at Liloan.
San Fernando Rey Parish of Liloan
During the mass, I couldn't help but be amazed at its dazzling design and lights.
It has a big area that can accommodate hundreds of people. It also has enough televisions on each side for people to be guided during the mass. And what's more amazing is that they have big electric fans that will fan out all your sweat. Though it can also trigger sleepiness, I guess it all depends on whether you are focused enough to listen to God's words.
Outside their church is a series of lights that are coiled around the tree.
It is beautiful.
My eyes were glittering with mesmerization, and it feels like I was blessed twice by God because He made my inner child the happiest.
My hands reached to my phone's camera and clicked the shutter button. It doesn't have the finest quality, but what I see needs to be documented.
My eyes move from side to side slowly while my body system is in deep awe. It's my first time being at the church of Liloan, and what makes it nice is that I went for their 5:30 PM mass.
I saw how the stars twinkled and how the moon guided us in our paths above the church. We walked around the church, but suddenly the wind touched my eyes. I blink barely, and when my hands almost reached my eyes, I gained back my steady vision, but my heart stopped and sank.
The wind slapped my body really hard. It pushed me. My hair began to fly in consonance with the wind. My skin broke its protective barrier against the cold.
I looked around and saw my friend. I rushed to her and looked at her in deep confusion. She smiled at me.
I ask her, "Where are we?"
She told me, "A tourist spot that I once visited."
I heard the sound of the big waves.
I looked at the sea and took a deep breath. I closed my eyes and told myself that all would be well. These transitions in my life will soon unfold their purpose.
I smiled at the sea and smelled barbeque. The sea must have noticed that I haven't eaten my dinner yet. So it calls me.
She called me. My friend.
"Let's eat"
What was that?
I turned my body 180° and found my friend sitting on a chair opposite me with a table in front of us. My eyes went from her to the food on the table. There is a barbeque and hanging rice or pusô.
I sat beside her, and we began eating.
On the last piece of my food, I looked at it and thought to myself that it would take me a lot of time to be here again. I took that final piece and let it digest inside me.
We stood up from our chairs, and then she told me to always stay safe and that it would be great to visit here again.
I smiled in delight because I feel the same way. I know that I am blessed beyond measure.
As we were walking, an alarm suddenly rang with music as its ringtone. I turned over my phone from my hand to see if it was mine, but it wasn't.
I was instantly puzzled.
I am confused because I have a strong feeling that it came from my phone. That's my alarm's ringtone.
"Goodbye," my friend said.
I looked at her, and suddenly everything disappeared.
Then,
I woke up. I turned my alarm off and smiled. My journey has been a great one, and I realized that adulthood is tough because you are on your own. Your parents won't tag along with you every time you go out. You have to budget your money. You need to go out of your comfort zone.
It might be confusing, and your heart might stop because you haven't adapted to the changes, but know that you should let the wind take you. Release yourself and fly high.
On this new journey, you can always meet new friends and bond with them.
On this new journey, you are not alone.
On this new journey, you are going to face hurdles, and it's always okay to fear. But don't quit.
