Fatherhood
When I was a growing up I do think my dad was so cruel to us. I use to say when I grow up I'll never take care of him.
Now I'm grown and married I went back to him and said "dad I am so sorry for what I've always thought about you" Now I am a father I understand better now.
Fatherhood is a priceless gift, my sympathy goes to thoes who lost their fathers long time ago. Not necessarily physical death but does who really don't care about their family anymore.
The world have always being unfair to men, covering the sacrifice of men as it's their responsibilities. Yes it is but it takes a kind father to carry out his responsibilities.
I'm not doubting the golden space of motherhood but permit me to talk about fatherhood
A true man carries the burden of the family. He does different jobs so as to provide for his family. He get abused by his young boss at work, he work in the harshest time and season. He sometimes cloths himself in winter so as to go find his daily breed. He is willing to cover his wife and kids with the only jacket he got and work on the winter street cold.
At summer he works day and night to provide the best for the family.
The kids come and asked his dad for funds, his wife comes, his parents, siblings, and friends. He got bills to pay. His rent is due, he got electricity bills, he got tax, he got to fuel his car, he got to buy new shoe since his old ones have worn out but no, he won't be buying a new pair of shoes since his wife and kids need one for chritmass.
He looks at his cloths, all faded and worn out. He needs new ones but no he won't buy for himself because his kids and wife need new ones too.
He needed to buy some foods stuffs to his old parents in downtown since he won't be traveling for Christmas. He also have his in-laws to buy something for too.
His younger brother just called and reminded him of the pair of shoes and cloths he promised him.
Oh! he remembered he was to pay his little sister t.fair back home for Christmas.
He got tuition to pay by January for his son who just gained admission.
His wife is pregnant and need a proper care.
He just went out to take a bottle of cold Heineken since he was worried and needed time to think. He got drunk and got home. His wife called him names, abused him and make him feel as if he hasn't done anything for the family. He got mad. His kids hated him for being drunk and see him as irresponsible dad...
He went inside his room with tears in his eyes. He doesn't know who will understand what is going through his mind.
At dawn he man up again, wore his old rugged cloths and shoes. Without breakfast he left to catch up the train.
He continued until he died and his name was soon forgotten
