Entonces, dale cuerda pero tal vez deje de ser yo. Es difícil ser algo a lo que no estás acostumbrado normalmente. Las cosas parecen ser diferentes porque actuamos de forma diferente. El saludo, las miradas, los gestos y el resto de las acciones impulsadas por aquella nueva forma de ser parecen agradables ante el mundo, pero son frágiles, tales como personas recién traídas al mundo porque eso es lo que es, una persona que permites que habite tu ser. Comparte sus pensamientos y sentimientos con la persona que realmente eres, pero acabas de crearla y es frágil, se fractura fácilmente con las palabras, miradas y gestos de otros. El nuevo yo morirá, murió muchas veces antes e inevitablemente morirán muchos más si quiero traerlos y presentarlos a los demás. No importa que tan seguro sea que pienses que está porque incluso las personas más cercanas las personas más queridas y hasta aquellas que juraron no lastimarte, lo harán. Adrede o no, lo harán. Dame cuerda, pero si te gusta lo que ves, no lo lastimes o morirá.
So, wind it up but maybe I'll stop being me. It's hard to be something you're not normally used to. Things seem to be different because we act differently. The greeting, the looks, the gestures and the rest of the actions driven by that new way of being seem nice to the world, but they are fragile, such as people just brought into the world because that's what it is, a person you allow to inhabit your being. It shares its thoughts and feelings with the person you really are, but you have just created it and it is fragile, easily fractured by the words, looks and gestures of others. The new me will die, it died many times before and inevitably many more will die if I want to bring them in and introduce them to others. It doesn't matter how safe you think it is because even the people closest to you, the people dearest to you and even those who swore not to hurt you, will. Intentionally or not, they will. Wind me up, but if you like what you see, don't hurt it or it will die.
