D.Buzz, a Philippine-based social media platform and the leading Web3 development firm that specializes in micro-blogging technology for the one of the most prominent blockchain network, Hive.io is now making waves in the Web 3 space after they decided to make their project as an open source initiative.

Even the co-founders of D.Buzz namely Chris Rice (@chrisrice) and Nathan Senn (@nathansenn) are both living and residing in the Philippines, particularly in Davao City.

For the past three years, D.Buzz have been operating as a self-funded project but still managed to experienced significant growth in terms of users, engagement and popularity in the Web 3 space. The Hive blockchain had its own way of funding projects, one of them is the Decentralized Hive Fund, an on-chain funding mechanism that allows anyone to submit a proposal and get funding once community votes pass a certain threshold.

Brief History of D.Buzz:

The first and only decentralized micro-blogging platform on Hive, D.Buzz started its base in the Hive community in the Philippines and was established way back August 23, 2019.

According to the co-founders of D.Buzz, Nathan Senn, the brilliant guy who managed to produce various products through self-study, and Chris Rice, the prominent guerilla marketer who managed to call the attentions of the big names in the tech industry not only in the Philippines but also abroad, all of their ventures involving D.Buzz have been totally self-funded ever since.

These brilliant minds behind D.Buzz claimed that haven't had any other sources of cash outside content uploading, curation, and witness incentives but the best part of it all, is the undeniable fact that these guys have NEVER made money from selling data or through conventional advertising that caught the attentions of people who are lovers of decentralization and free speech.
