University life in Navrongo- Upper East Region, Ghana

Hey guys, I know it’s been a while and I’m sorry okay. I have just been caught up with school work and I thought maybe I could write about this stressful semester that I’m having .

There is not a lot of experiences that would leave me tired and mentally drained. Schooling in Navrongo however, that is an experience I would not recommend. With temperatures that would make the Sahara envious, and when your school is newly established , any or every kind of academical renovations are made . You have yourself having to cover up a whole course that has been wrapped up by your lecturer even before midsem exams. As a result of the temperature too, rescheduling or canceling of group studies has certainly been involuntary.

Not to mention of the enormous increase in living expenses. Prices have increased by 100% , making campus life very difficult.
The natives of the town seem to be making things even worse. We students are categorized as “the higher class” and this makes them take advantage of us thereby selling stuffs to us at exorbitant prices.

This semester is definitely the most stressful of all. As a level three hundred student, slacking off is definitely not an option. You have yourself feeling exhausted even after taking a nap and oh my the heat is never favorable. Not even at night because it feels like your electric fan has overheated.

As I’m typing this out I have a group studies to attend to and I also need to prepare dinner for my roommate and I . I don’t ever want to imagine how students who run their own businesses deal with all this cause I feel like I’m on the verge of giving up .
Some of you guys might like the weather condition here because it gives you a tan for someone with dark skin, it only makes things worst for you .

To make things even worse, I’ve run out of provisions and will probably get any when the month of Ramadan ( fasting time) approaches. The month of Ramadan in the islamic calendar is supposed to begin at the end of March this year.

I know this might not interest some but writing this helps in relieving some stress. I am so happy to have been welcomed into this family. I have learned so much and I pray to learn more. Thank you and have a good one.
