The Baltic Sail

How I like to watch ships, and sailing ships the most.... Today the Baltic Sail sailboat rally came to an end. On this occasion it was possible to go on a three-hour cruise on the Gulf of Gdansk and listen to concerts of shanty bands on Olowianka.

The weather was great. Super event.
I did not dare to sail on a sailing ship on the bay. I once sailed a small yacht on the sea when there were too many people on the boat. I went below deck and ended up seasick. However, next year I will break through and sail. My mother went on a short cruise on one of the sailing ships today and reported that it was not rocking.

If Mom could do it, Gretel can do it too. I'm already looking forward to next year.
In the next post you will be able to listen to an excerpt from a concert with a sailing theme.

In the photo you can see a Latvian sailing ship named "Libava", which is a replica of a 17th century Dutch type yacht. Launched in September 2008 in Petrozavodsk, it was built using only technology and materials available centuries ago. Yachts of this type were used 300 years ago primarily as representative vessels for the aristocracy.

A historic sewage pumping station on the Motlawa River can be seen in the background.
