It's all just a flow, do whatever feels right, there is no right and wrong way to live. Long distance is hard, but we can look for ways to enjoy any situation, as long as we don't go against what feels right to us.
It's easy to feel lonely in a new place, but then again that gives us the challenge to push us to be more resourceful and take an initiative. That's how I feel in Tokyo. It's a little cold and lonely, but that pushes me to be warm and make an extra effort with people which is good for me.
I find a lot of people from the Philippines are really fun to be around because they balance emotion and logic well, at least in my experience, obviously just a generalization based on who I've met. One of my best friends in Tokyo is from there, though I only see him every 2 or 3 months.
Society, urgh, visas + freedom are a very hard thing to balance....
Whether you stay or go, you can always get closer to the life of your dreams. I am starting a business here which is pushing me to grow into who I want to be, but then I hope to spend half my year travelling.
