(Racing) Against Time

in Freewriters9 days ago

That's the peculiarity of the variable TIME... it goes on and on, and there's no way to stop it.
We can interact with it; all our classical physics formulas depend on this single variable... the only one that connects the three spatial dimensions of our reality and the only one with which everything makes sense... obviously, from the point of view of classical mechanics.
That variable also makes us aware of our existence and consciousness... when you're young, you hardly notice it; as the years go by, its importance amplifies... one day you wake up and realize 50 years have passed, and you try to race faster than your available time allows... and you can't... suddenly, you begin to value time more rationally, to include it more consciously in your being... but you can't; you keep "losing" it. Another day, another week, another month...
OMG! Is it Christmas again?
Where did summer go?
And what happened to my baby? He's now taller than me, and yesterday, he couldn't even wipe his bottom...
I think, or have the feeling, that everything accelerated after the birth of my second child... suddenly, the time that seemed INFINITE became LIMITED and precious... routine was established by controlling my desires so I could manage the new** level of entropy** I'd reached: daycare, schools, sports, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, doctor's appointments... little problems here and there... suddenly, a PAUSE... time for both of us (my wife and I)... we decided to REST... time is slipping away again... there's no way, we can't control it, only MANAGE IT and come to terms with it, trying to keep it from killing us before... TIME?

Do you realize? TIME DOMINATES everything...the words...INFINITE, LIMITED, REST, PAUSE, MANAGE, ARRIVE, START, LIVE...DIE...

How stressful, huh?

Another year again...half a century has passed...I'm going for the second half, but first, I better go for a run.

Happy birthday...to me!

Indeed, when you are young a year is endless, expecially if you go to school, when adult it goes super fast

Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday! If I understood well, you have birthday.

I believe the whole society is running on steroids.

We are bombarded with information that we believe we understand, but the reality is that we are lost in this race with life, many times, without any meaning attached to it. Few are those who realize at a time when they can still steer the ship away...

Fully agree

That feeling when you blink and suddenly a whole decade’s gone. Managing time is one thing, but realizing how much it’s managed you, that’s a whole different struggle
