In today's article is about another common question most of the people ask to all Authors about What Books Made You LOL?
c'mon Lets Get Started!
WHAT BOOKS MADE YOU LAUGH.
This question is a lot easier, but talking about why something makes people laugh-out-loud is a much more difficult conversation! I think the series that made me laugh the most was the Stephanie Plum books, by Janet Evanovich. Given the popularity of the series I was not alone. I think there are two qualities that a writer can build into his or her work that prompts their readers to actually laugh out loud. First, is relatability. If the reader sees something of him or herself in the character's situation, and the character does something in a way that the reader finds admirable or relatable, then the circumstance creates a rapport between the character and the reader.
The other condition that contributes to absolute mirth on the part of the reader is unpredictability. If the character does something that surprises the reader and in the process, that reader can relate to the situation or response, then it evokes laughter. While I think that unpredictability contributes to the optimal humorous moment, I have certain passages of literature where I laugh every time I read them, including some of my own. When it comes down to it, I guess I don't completely understand the matter even though I seem to be successful in writing funny scenes.
What Is in The Future for The Bookers?
You don't think I'm going to give away the future stories, do you? The truth is, I have no idea. None of us know the future, but... we can talk about our dreams and goals, right? There are a few things that I do know, because Gary, Paige, and Suraya shared their plans with us in past books. There is going to be a summit meeting of leaders at The Villa. The theme of these meetings will be current technology and how it will affect people's personal lives and geopolitics. Trust me, it sounds a lot more boring than it actually is and I have a strong idea that there will be a lot of fun and excitement involved.
There is a team mission being planned to combat terrorist activity in The Philippines, in fact I am writing these words on an Eva Air flight to Cebu, Gary asked me to do some research for that event. The resort at Turtle Beach is going to play a larger part in the lives of the Booker Family. I might even have to make a trip to Belize to research that; it sucks to be me. For sure, when we are in Siargao, Philippines three weeks from now I will be creating scenes from the beach. Inspiration comes at a cost.
There are going to be some new adventures surrounding what they are doing in Nashville. This series of events is unfolding in real life at this moment. I talked to Amanda a few days ago (at the time of this post) and she is close to taking occupancy of a new campus that was donated to help the homeless, abandoned kids and the veterans she is serving.
Last but certainly not least, there will be new romantic entanglements for some of the key family members, Candyce will take up a lot of their time, and Robin is moving to Austin soon to go to school. There are new friends to meet, as you know if you've read Lightning Strikes; and I suppose it's no mystery after reading The Husband Whisperer, that Paige can't keep herself from wanting to meet Sarah!
So, since you are a fan of the Booker-verse, you know that there is never a dull moment in that household, nor a minute to spare in my excitement to share their lives with you. As soon as I hear what they are doing next, I'll let you know. 😉
