If a man walked on his way to meet his enemy, and his armor weighed on him so he took it off, and his sword weighed on him so he threw it, and his food and drink weighed on him so he abandoned them, and then he met his enemy helpless, defenseless, and hungry, how could he be victorious?!
Likewise, if the remembrance is burdensome for him and he abandons it, the Sunnahs and rituals are burdensome for him so he neglects them, the religious duties are burdensome for him so he delays them, and the commands and prohibitions are burdensome for him and he neglects them, then he complains of Satan’s control over his heart!
