In the nights when you're not there

In the nights when you're not there
silence becomes my prison,
the moon peeps out its pale face,
and the sad song embraces me.

To your home very soon you're leaving,
and the echo of your laughter goes away,
my hands search in the darkness
the warmth that your love gives me.

I feel alone, without happiness,
the shadows dance with my desolation,
whispers of the wind bring your truth,
a distant echo, your voice in my heart.

Come back, my love, to illuminate my walk,
because in these nights, loneliness is cruel,
and even if the moon wants to console me,
nothing compares to your embrace, my honey.

This is such a beautifully melancholic piece! The longing and loneliness are so deeply felt, and the imagery of the moon and shadows adds a haunting touch. It perfectly captures the ache of missing someone you love.

Well. I hope you feel happy again soon (though I know it's not easy in such circumstances). At least this lovely poem came out of it, no?
