There is no longer room for this world on the drawing board on which it began.
Like most lost things, this world has been lost.
There was no alarm to tell that moments had passed;
To tell me that it had outgrown its grip on my knowledge.
To tell me that this time would be the last.
What lies ahead is likely a world where the sun is dim,
Where the skies are gray and joy is grim.
Where laughter is lost and tears are consumed,
And nature is ravaged without repentance,
Pollution is strong, our skies are scarred,
The oceans are dead, our hearts are debarred.
The future is bleak, our lives are frail.
Our hope seems lost.
The world has changed, its beauty has gone,
The world is full of emptiness.
The future is bleak, and our hearts are forlorn.
We've lost our dreams, our hopes have decayed,
And in despair, we fade away.
We've lost our ways, our morals have failed,
The future's lost, and its spirit paled.
We've turned our backs on all that's true.
And now we face the consequences, it's due.
But maybe we can make a change.
We can start a new beginning.
We'll make a change with love and care.
And our future will be bright and fair.
Our hearts will shine with pure delight.
As we turn darkness into light.
