Dwarfed hopes grow tall

in Blockchain Poets3 days ago

I saw it all
I saw it coming
I watched our motherland grow
On spikes that would pierce
The most daintly of feet of posterity

I saw it all
The labour of our father's
On their blood and sweat
They were ready to give it all
For their children unborn

I viewed it all
Watched dismay
The fortunes of dear land splashed
In muddled heads of paranoid
Then I learned the most painful thing

The future was unclear
Yet they strived and hoped
But the dwarfed hopes grew tall
And sprout branches
long enough to accommodate many

Then we lay astride
And beckoned to full bosomed hope
To come embrace us rejuvenated.
