It is shocking
How their promises fail
It's disheartening
How their lips lie
It is disgusting
How they veil the truth
They take our lands, it's not enough
We are under attack, they cause us
much harm
Deceit on their rooftops
They say, "we will make things right"
And we become nothing but puppets
in their game of lies
Shadows in power
They promise us change, to ascend
Under oaths, they continue in deceit
and leave us in much distress
I see anomaly in their thought processes
Yet they win again and again
What is this cruelty that repeats itself
"Cast your vote" for worthless vows
then violate the rights they should protect
Big lies beyond comprehension
While hopes dash against the stone
And the people burn up in flames
Conveniently they forget
their words sweetened with honey
e'er before the ink is dried
Nurtured dreams lying in wastelands
And my people are still hungry
for their smooth and slick lies
We should confront the powers in the shadows, the powers that keep us perpetually bound, the powers causing rift and disparity, powers ensuring the divide is never bridged. Away with their speeches of manipulations, away with their facade of tricks and lies, let us always vote wisely, for true change, equality and for posterity!!
