Men's fashion is so boring, there's very little of it in the store.
True. One had to live in the 16th and 17th century where mens fashion was not so much distinguished from females. Oh, these frills! LOL:D
I'd say it's hard to find those quality posts of content creators here for they are not in the trending sites. With "hard to find" I mean that when you search for "art" or other keywords, you always find the same thing. It's often the accidental finds that I rarely stumble across because they happen off the beaten track. But in recent years I have rarely discovered anything that really interests me. That may be due to my taste, which only pays attention to what it doesn't know yet. You know when you're really looking for something unique, you don't find it because your conceptual search is too direct?
Hive promotes cheap content and sells it as quality as far as I can see. There are exceptions when it comes to technical stuff, though. But I don't understand it enough so I miss out on that.
Yeah, let's hope that it'll change :)
Good point
I rarely search for information on Hive. When I wish to follow a given topic, I search on Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, etc. They're all corporate mega-structures, and I'm aware of their limitations, but they have the information I want. They're particularly useful when I want to narrow the focus of my search to specific topics like space porn, fountain pens, and llamas.
I like what Leo Threads is doing, but for me, it just didn't really have the stickiness I was hoping for, but I admire this project with such a dedicated user base, and I hope it succeeds.
If you're a PeakD user, there is a new Discord style chat as shown in the image below with the yellow icon.
When you click on it, a side-sliding window opens up, and shows you all the communities that you're subscribed to along the left side, and the content on the right.
As of right now, the content and interaction in that space is minimal. It has potential for those who enjoy this style of chatting, but it means using the PeakD front end, and given the diverse nature of the hive ecosystem, then this is obviously a limitation. I like this versatility nevertheless. So, I hope they bake a Twitter or Instagram clone into the interface. That would be excellent as a content creator that often relies on short form and graphical work! It would also be nice to have more tools for video and three-dimensional content along with unicorns and rainbows. 🌈🦄🌈
Oh, thank you very much for your care to give me this information.
Unfortunately, I am not. I am not sure what I like more "peakd" or "ecency". I am still using the hive frontend. Is it possible in "peakd" to change from the black to a white background color? I really dislike the black. LOL - Once I got used to a certain environment I am a bit lazy to switch to another one.
When you search outside the hive, does it lead you back to it? I understand that this does not happen.
I am not in the same way satisfied by the information the corporations spill out in the web. The kinds of contents I am sniffing for are often not rated very high and because they lack popularity the searching gets tedious. Can you believe that it happened to me that my keywords did not produce a finding? LOL :D
Good thing is that I became my own source of research. Since I am here for nearly seven years. When I open up my stem articles, I am amazed by the sources I listed there and can go back. Sadly, though, some of the sources do not exist any longer ...
LOL :D
and what are "llamas"?
I never tried, I don't mind the black, especially when I'm in bed like right now :D
I like to experiment with different apps and front end, so what works now may not work later and the reverse.
If I'm looking for Hive related info, I search within Hive. Otherwise, I try somewhere else for my focused search like llamas 🦙 (just kidding, I don't have a llama fetish)
I use zotero to keep track of resources with just a few clicks. This is very useful when writing articles that require proper sourcing and formatting for publication. Probably overkill for Hive articles but useful if you need to add references.
When I was younger, I used to read and type at the screen at night times. But that faded out. So I prefer the white background. But I dim the brightness when I watch movies late night, for I might fall asleep and then it disturbs me.
Fetishes, HaHa! I can't think of having one but you never know ;)
"Zotero" I never heard of. Might try it out, thanx. Mostly, when I researched for educated articles I used keywords with "pdf" added to them.
Sleep well!
Thank you. I'm awake again and just dropping by to share the link in case you're interested.
