Hello again everyone.. it's time for another prompt. 😀
Last week's prompt is Time. If you didn't get a chance to write a piece for this prompt, feel free to have a go and give us some awesome poetry.
Now onto this week's business...
This week's prompt is: The Rose
For many, the rose is the symbol of Love. There is such delicate beauty in the petals of the rose, that will make a woman's heart squishy... when she might receive a dozen of these flowers.
Underneath all that beauty, is prickly thorns and all manner of pain that can be felt if you do not handle the rose with care. The same can be said about relationships and love. You must handle them with care and maintain them, otherwise you might find yourself in a world of hurt.
Many people the world over use the rose to symbolize their love for another, and use the rose as a gift to show affection. The rose often goes hand in hand with chocolate when love is celebrated during a holiday, like Valentines Day and etc.
There are many varieties of the rose, and their uses are many. There are black roses that can signify change, often used in death and mourning rituals, or as a sign of a new beginning.
What does the rose mean to you? Do you use the rose as a gateway to love? Do you send your significant other roses, as a way of letting them know that you truly care about them?
Feel free to write any rose that pique your interests most. 🙂
Prompt for the week of September 26th - October 2nd
Let your keyboard or quill, pen or pencil.. crayon.. or whatever you like to express yourself with, do the talking. Put down some killer lines of poetry, and share your awesome works with the community and the world.
