Birth pangs.

My feet wobbled,
My heart panted,
My stomach groaned,
My eyes were dim,

It was the birth pang,
You kicked without mercy,
Finding a way to be out of the place that sheltered you for nine months,
It was about time.

Push! The midwife pacified me,
Argggghhhh, with tears in my eyes,
My feet were killing me,
I was tired but then I couldn't wait to meet you,
So, I summoned the courage,
Though faced with excruciating pain,
I pushed.

I had tears,
I bled,
But I smiled at the sound of your cry,
They calmed my heart,
For I know,
All the sacrifice was worth it in the end.

The pain birthed a life,
I saw your face,
And then I smiled.

This poem resonated with me. It brought back memories of how had my three children. Those moments were the best moments of my life. All the pain and endurance was worth it when I heard the cries of my children for the first time. Your poem describes it all. This is so beautiful and thank you for sharing this wonderful poem! 😊

Yeah, all the pain vanishes at the sound of your baby crying, that's the beauty of labor pain.

Thanks for stopping by.

The miracle of life it is not possible without a woman, from the pain of childbirth to a lifetime watching over the being of her entrails, that can only be done by a woman, called a mother.
Beautiful poem.
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

Yes, it can only be done by a woman called a mother.
Thanks for the visit.

A very descriptive poem about what many women call "the real pain", because they say there is no pain stronger than that and it may be so. Good job. Regards.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I am grateful.

In as much as am going to be a mother someday, this is a lot to consider oh🤧 Goosebumps everywhere 😱

Hehe, it's a process we all as ladies will eventually pass through. It is a beautiful experience by the way.

This poem sent shivers down my spine, you described the journey of delivery so well that I could not help but imagine how much sacrifice women go thru to birth a soul.

Beautifully written.

Thank you for appreciating this poetry.

What a realistic poem we have found here, I enjoyed reading it and capturing the images that you describe so well, so here I share with you a simple analysis of what I captured in your words.

The poem “Labor Pains” is a powerful and moving portrayal of the physical and emotional struggles of childbirth. The language and imagery used by the author is evocative and conveys the intensity of the experience. The repetition of bodily sensations, such as shaking feet and a rumbling stomach, creates a visceral feeling in the reader.

The author also uses strong verbs to convey the action of the experience, such as “you kicked,” which heightens the sense of struggle. The midwife's encouragement and the author's own determination also stand out as significant factors in the process.

The poem also contrasts the pain and sacrifice with the joy and relief of having successfully given birth. Overall, the poem is a moving description of the childbirth experience and the complex mix of emotions it can evoke. The author has done a great job of capturing the many aspects of this life-changing event.
