In the mirror I see my pain,
Etched deep into my skin,
A constant reminder of the struggles,
That I keep locked within.
The lines upon my face,
Tell stories of my past,
Of heartache, loss and longing,
That I thought would always last.
The mirror doesn't lie,
It shows me as I am,
A fighter, a survivor,
Who's been through the toughest exams.
But oh, how I wish,
That I could shed this skin,
And leave behind the pain,
That I carry deep within.
For every time I look,
Into that reflective glass,
I'm reminded of my sorrows,
And the struggles that still last.
Yet even in my pain,
I find strength to carry on,
For the mirror may show my scars,
But it can't take away my song.
So I'll keep on fighting,
And I'll keep on moving ahead,
For even in my darkest moments,
I know there's hope to be spread.
I hope future me reads this poem and thinks twice about suicide
Very nice poem, perfectly reflects that feeling of struggle that is in each of us but we must try to continue no matter how much the circumstances that arise along the way, I identified perfectly with this writing, thanks for sharing it ♥
