Wobbling, trying so hard, Howdy y’all. It’s me, ninong7 aka UJ aka John. Just a short intro about myself. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history. I’m at home on my computer a lot but if I could afford to, I’d be traveling and documenting my travels to post in my blog. I hope to get to know a lot of you through PeakD and Discord.
with a soft shiny face.
Doing his very best
In this wide-open space.
He keeps moving along
at his very slow pace.
Trying his very best
to keep moving with grace.
This precious moment I know
I'll never be able to replace.
My little baby's walking
trying to get to my embrace.
🤩
The first thing I want to do is to congratulate you for the poem because it is a tender and beautiful way of expressing through poetry what those first steps in the life of our children mean, to see them work to get to us, but a necessary work because it will teach them to reach their destination on their own.
Thank you for sharing it and I suggest you keep it and teach it to him for when the child grows up because, later that process is the other way around and, it is he who will help you walk, when he is an older adult.
Like you, I love dominoes and chess.
Have a great day.
Cheers and best regards.
Not a child of mine walking. A friend just had his first baby and I think about when he's ready to move around. I have a great-granddaughter that is already walking.
Dominoes (Moon) is my favorite. I have to teach people here in the Philippines to play it because most don't seem to have a clue.
