I don't know who we got to this point as a country - Nigeria
The government is contented just to see everyone living according to their criteria
I don't even know how to describe the state of Nigeria
It's mostly calamity with so many people living in mass hysteria
What's with African countries or this is with countries that ends with "ria" like Liberia?
They said we are developing but what's the difference between us and Syria?
Everyone is blinded by mad loyalty to tribalistic politicians, it's in every area
They speak in language alien to us as though they are from Bulgaria
They are not speaking the language we understand intentionally to confuse us as the Targarians
People who were elected into offices to serve us giving us terms and conditions like Siberia
They have taken away the sweetness, eaten too deep like bacteria
They give citizens crumbs but you see these shameless leaders walk into the best cafeteria
I've imagined having super powers so I can waste them publicly like the Assyrian
I can't say what the problem is but sometimes it looked like we have been cursed
Cursed to always have the worst of options in leadership
A lot of people would sell off their future for just a few Naira notes
Money that is not enough to feed for the week yet they slave for 4-8 years
We elect the same greedy politicians every 4 years, recycle them and still cry foul
When we have those selling their future for just a fraction, even their soul
We don't even understand our rights enough to fight for it
And when we do, we quickly sell it back to the highest bidder
How are we expected to even make the country bigger?
People living as it comes with no end goal in mind
I still haven't seen any politician that is truly kind
We empowered them by slaving for them and it's disheartening

I thought about everything and I almost cried, we are hungry even when we have our money.
I don't know why they fought for freedom when we aren't ready for it and these same people hurting the citizens are the ones condemning slavery. The country is messed and we can only hope for divine intervention because whoever tries to step up for the right thing will be eliminated.
The condition is really terrible, Nigerians are suffering.
They should have left us with the UK to be colonized. At least we would all have better social amenities and we can have easy access to the UK.
I swear, it would have been better because I don't just understand anything anymore. We don't have anything a nation despite the wealth locked in the country, we have dictators in power and not government.
We don't have government. We don't have leaders. We only have those who want to ride on money on the back of the citizens. It's sad sha.
Too bad this is what the country has become, I fear what the coming generation will encounter if things are these tough now.
I'm more scared for the coming generation too. It's scary what they have to deal with. May God help us all because it's not easy but God will make it easy for us all.

It's very sad my brother and it's a situation that calls for anger. I am left stunned. I can't understand anything anymore. I know our leaders are useless but they are proving to be an expert at it.
They have proven it over and over again but we are helpless against them. The election is meant to be our strength but our vote barely count, I hope the country doesn't suddenly disappear someday.
That's the sad part...the vote doesn't count. They find a way to make it all about themselves. They find a way to buy votes, maneuver their ways into power. They want to take power from the people by all means.

There is no fairness...the rule of law only applies to the others and not to those at the upper echelon of power, sadly. Justice has been dead and freedom has long been buried. It's quite sad and disheartening. It keeps going on and there is no end in sight.

Sometimes, when I try to understand why we don't see the obvious, why we don't want to change what we see, it makes my head and my heart ache. It hurts so much to know that we can be a million times better yet we choose mystery.
We can be a lot more yet shave chosen mediocrity. It's so sad that a country with endless possibilities couldn't do better. It's annoying thinking about it.
Wow, this is like a wake-up call, something similar happens in my country but hey, there is a saying that says that a nation is not its land or its rulers but its people, but many times that people who support those rulers for the campaigns they they offer them everything and when they take power they forget about the people themselves, and another saying applies here that an ignorant people is a blind instrument of its own destruction, I hope that with all my heart the problems in your country of origin are resolved, hugs friend and a lot of strength ♥
Most people are just ignorant like you said, these politicians forget those people. They won't even remember them. They only used them. It's a general problem. Most issues with so many countries can be fixed it the leadership problem is fixed.
That's the sad part. They forget those they use and yet these people allow themselves to be used by these politicians. I don't know how many people don't think only because of little money.

I am really scared for the future of so many. It's all about money and power for these leaders and for the common man that should use his head, they allow themselves to be exploited while being given stipends.
Stipends that aren't enough for an hour's satisfaction. We are our enemies.

Hmm... The country is getting worsen day by day. A rich country with poor leaders.
My tired is tired of Nigeria and the truth of the matter is, it keeps getting worse. Just when we think we have sunk low, they seem to sink further down. These leaders have no shame. They just don't care one bit and it's sad.
Very soon they will discover oil with how low they would sink. They are sinking so bad and they are defying common sense. I can't understand them.
Over the years, I have seen how poverty has been turned into a weapon by our politicians. Even the poverty alleviation plans are still aimed at keeping people within a certain financial level with no realistic way of improvement.
Then we hail them for building two secondary schools here and there, a few roads and bridges, and tap water in communities. They then use it to campaign for the next election. What were they supposed to do in the first place??? It's because people are in multidimensional poverty, that's why they throw these mediocre accomplishments for us, coupled with greasing palms with few thousands during elections. It's so sad how tribalism, nepotism and poverty have been used in the hands of our politicians.
You absolutely nailed this. You addressed the problem and saw right through them. They are not willing to help in any way. They just throw a few things around all in a bid to control. Their help is never without the help that requires people to depend on them. They are controlling and evil.
