third poem in a trilogy of neglect

What did you do to them?

For you mother, all for you.

I throw myself
from the third
storey, rope
taut,

the nanny from
the Omen
ruining
a children’s
party

for my own
selfish reasons.
Showing the
little bullies

what the
result of
my family’s
neglect truly has

produced. Like
I was. By
a woman.
That hates

me for telling
her the truth
about her beloved

violent son.

My brother,
not me.

This isn’t
a sad reflection
of my mother’s
skill.

She gave
me everything
she said she
was obliged to

according to some
rights of a child
from
some united nations.

Though she forgot
love and protection.

I am the Nanny from the Omen, here to rip my family apart.

Release the
black dog,

and tear
out
their
throats.

There aren’t
nine daggers
that will
kill me.

I am not
a bratty toddler with
a black soul.
I am a

chimera all
scales and feathers
ready to claw
their ‘normality’ to bits.

Like Carrie
I’m covered in
pigs’ blood,
my hatred electric.

I am
Leatherface
ready to rend
their bodies to meat.

I am Regan spewing
her pea-green
vomit on my
pristine family.

My mother sucks cocks in hell.

They taught
me to be
destructive

in life and
my eventual death
at the hands of
their children,

who learnt their
hatred through
the actions of
their parents,

who label
me ‘good for
nothing’

I did this
for you
Damien

For you.
