I seemed like a child for not having felt
the fear of being in your dark soul,
so naïve that I confused footsteps with heartbeats,
and still, I go to you, I am the worst blind.
In stagnant waters, I’ve been submerged,
chasing the executioner who takes away sins;
I preferred to gamble with the devil and lose
than die for you, pretending to be in love.
I was almost the jester of your madness called life,
seeking illusions in your lifeless dreams,
but I’m only glad there were never any wounds
or love-struck fools fearing to lose themselves.
And still, the sun begins to shine little by little,
as the full moon fades with all this truth,
and the grass around the madmen’s epitaph
turns dark, for they never knew how to love.
Parecía un niño por no haber sentido
al estar en tu alma oscura, tanto miedo,
tan ingenuo que confundí pasos con latidos
y aun así voy hacia a ti, soy un mal ciego.
En aguas de estanque he estado sumergido
por perseguir al verdugo que quita los pecados,
preferí jugar al azar con el diablo y haber perdido
que morir por ti fingiendo estar enamorado.
Casi soy el bufón del reino de tu locura llamada vida
por buscar ilusiones en tus sueños inertes,
solo me alegra el hecho que nunca hubo heridas
ni locos de amor sintiendo miedo a perderse.
Y aun así va brillando el sol poco a poco
mientras se va la luna llena con toda esta verdad,
y el pasto que rodea el epitafio de los locos
se vuelve oscuro porque nunca se supieron amar.
