here to see what gave birth to the following poem.I'll say it again - Hivers are the most creative, interesting and inspiring people on the whole internet. There's so many posts that have encouraged me, motivated me, and just downright moved me. This week, I read a piece of writing by @litguru, whose words just made me want to distill it down to a poetic form. So, without saying anything else, I just commented with the poetic distillation of his prose. He replied with his own verse, and I replied with a third stanza which completed the impromptu jam event. It was so much fun - and the result was worth sharing. You can find the original prose
Wild roses and falling petals
Lingering cardamom & cloves
You said we'd be gods among stars
Skin covered in seafoam & you
Leaving with the tide.
The scent of cinnamon
Aquatic elixirs
The rattle of seashells where you stand
Venus rising in the mist
Warm lips and potions
All those secrets in the sand.
Beds of clams & molluscs, & seaweed
Twined round jellyfish legs
Sticky with phosphorescence
I wake these days with salt on my lips
& think of the moonlight on the water
and those kama sutra nights.
The italics are my verse, the middle is @litguru's, who I set as 50 percent beneficiary for this fun poetry jam. Images from Unsplash, because I couldn't find any mermaids that were willing to be photographed.

Seriously? Poetry Jam on Hive? This is good to know. Keep up the good work brothers, @riverflow and @litguru
So much fun happens on HIVE, @martinstomisin!
Oh, that's really sweet, @riverflows
Keep up the good work. I enjoyed reading the creativity β Poetry Writing
Thanks!
Stay coolYou're welcome @riverflows
Quite an amazing jam <3 Poetry jams are quite cool and rare, I would say. Once I tried it out unconsciously with a very close friend of mine but it was an intertwining of two different languages but our context remained the same. While texting, it just happened and later we continued and it became too good. And, during the process, we both enjoyed it to the fullest. I bet you two enjoyed it well too, @riverflows and @litguru.
Wow that is awesome - you should post it on HIVE!
Now that you mention it, I'll try looking for it.
It is wonderful when minds flow in synch during the creative process. Highly enjoyable!
I like it when people find photos to match vibes with their work
I'm glad you liked it!
Loved this, really. First, I thought it was sexy in an elegant way. Second, the words made me listen to sounds, feel things, like the animals and the sea-related sensations that I am very familiar with. Huge shoutout to you both, this is art. Regards @riverflows @litguru.
Thanks @cesar21 - it was kinda wierd writing a sexy poem with someone I don't know, but hey, anything goes on HIVE, right?!
Thank you @cesarj21! This was written in a sublime moment of inspiration. @riverflows has a wonderful sense of poetic rhythm and a sensous artistic touch.
That good rhythm and musicality has this poem made by two hands, I was pleasantly pleased with the use of melodic metaphors that both use, I saw myself making an oceanic journey where the aroma of the species plunged me into a poetic dream, thank you poets for sharing your sacred art, receive my friends @riverflows & @litguru my cordial greetings and affection.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, that's really cool!!!
Writing the poem was very immersive. I wasn't expecting it myself and felt like a mariner hearing the call of the siren called @riverflows!
I've only just made @litguru's acquaintance, and here she is, off her couch, or maybe writing poetry on her couch, with one of my favorite poets on hive. Great work. I love this. It read like a conversation. I'd love to see it go on and on.
Thanks so much @owasco - what an accolade!!! Humbled!
Surprise @owasco. I'm a boy! At least I was when I checked this morning. π
oh! lol. At first I assumed you were male, then I saw someone refer to you as "she," so I thought I was very smart to have picked that up, and here I am, wrong. Good to know, thank you for correcting me.

Thank you @riverflows for the post and the tip. It was a wonderfully spontaneous poetry jam session, and I enjoyed it very much. Love the accompanying images.
Thank YOU for the inspiring words - we really weaved a little magic together there! My bad for mistiming the schedule so I missed some votes, but I hope the small gesture of my appreciation of your work means a little xx - truly, I'm so glad you're on HIVE!
I can hear a song when I read this! Love it!
Me too - a siren song!
just great, how the images flow with your poem, I love it.
Thanks!
