How Are We Doing: Past Present and Future

I was asked years back what I thought my future would look like

It was a lover making the inquiry, whether I will be married or still as I am

I had no idea what to reply; I wanted love, but I wasn’t ready

It was a funny and hard place to be

For you to watch someone who loves you slip in the hands of someone they had to choose

Just because you aren’t ready

The past wasn’t so good, I guess

Many years behind us, and we still have several beauties around us

Now we are ready but still yet to pick

Sometimes I regret I never picked my lover

True love these days is so scarce

It’s not about riches or your being perfect

A cheating spirit is on the rampage to make people love more than a person

How painful, how heartbreaking

Guess the present isn’t perfect, but at least we are ready for love

Tomorrow is best tagged as unknown

Although we have several dreams on our list

Some achieved, achieving some, and on our way to the fulfillment of others

The future in view is something so pleasant to behold

God willing, it is a world we want to live in

The past is bad, the present is good, and the future is bright.
